Beneath Chaos, Stillness…
“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” —Deepak Chopra
Beneath the chaos unfolding in our country, world, and, perhaps, personal lives, there are many resources for support.
And beneath those loving efforts, there are moments of stillness that can guide us to what will truly serve us now.
You may not always “keep stillness inside of you,” as Deepak Chopra invites you to do, but you can come back to it again and again for guidance, peace, and remembered connection to the Holy One.
How can you remind yourself to step back and rest in stillness and silence when you find yourself worrying about the future or trying to solve problems that don’t seem to have a solution?
Sometimes that precious stillness is found in meditation or prayer. Sometimes our minds can best rest within movement. An aimless walk, a run along a well-worn path, or even a dance to an uplifting piece of music can quiet the mind. Or maybe you find inner stillness when journaling or sipping a cup of coffee or tea. However you best find it, I invite you to get to that place as often as you can right now.
Clarity, peace, and an understanding that you’re not alone can be found beneath the chaos one pause for stillness at a time.
May you seek out moments of stillness within often, and may they reward you with the peace, connection, and clarity you seek.

Seek Out a Tree…
“Seek out a tree and let it teach you stillness.”
—Eckhart Tolle
Where You Really Need to Be
“Find a moment of stillness, give your heart a chance to tell you where you really need to be.”
—Dodinsky

Counteract Chaos
“When everything is moving and shifting, the only way to counteract chaos is stillness. When things feel extraordinary, strive for ordinary. When the surface is wavy, dive deeper for quieter waters.” —Kristin Armstrong

Empty Space
In many a piece of music, it’s the pause or the rest that gives the piece its beauty and its shape.
And I know I, as a writer, will often try to include a lot of empty space on the page so that the reader can complete my thoughts and sentences and so that her imagination has room to breathe.
—Pico Iyer
May frequent pauses or rest give you room to breathe.
