Could You Be Any More Amazing?
“Bring forth your light. Now is not the time to be afraid of the dark.”
—Chelan Harkin
A thank you card from friends has had pride of place in my home since November because it makes me smile and reminds me of my potential.
“Could you be any more amazing?” is on the front of the card. I think many of us need little reminders like that, so we remember who we really are.
–Gregg Braden, Pure Human
Using scientific research woven with spiritual wisdom to convey how amazing we humans are, from the power of the electrical energy running through us, to the light we emit, and the spark of divinity we contain within, Braden seeks to remind us of human potential (in contrast to emphasizing a move toward favoring Artificial Intelligence).
So far (I’m about halfway through), I’m nodding my head a lot at truths I already intuitively knew. But there’s something powerful about also engaging the left brain with compelling research of our divine capacities at a time when many of us are doubting our ability to do anything about the current state of affairs.
How do you remind yourself of your inner light and strength? Is there a beloved quote, spiritual text or teaching, poem, or movie that speaks to your inherent power to shine light, do go, and make a difference? Now may be the time to restore it to “pride of place” in your home or office.
May you be reminded in delightful and inspiring ways of how amazing you truly are.

One Thing
“If I could give you one thing, it would be the ability to see yourself through my eyes. Only then you will truly understand how special you are.”
—Frida Kahlo
Never Forget
“Never forget that you are one of a kind. Never forget that if there weren’t any need for you in all your uniqueness to be on this earth, you wouldn’t be here in the first place. And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person.”
—R. Buckminster Fuller

It’s When the Earth Shakes
It’s when the earth shakes
And foundations crumble
That our light is called
To rise up.It’s when everything falls away
And shakes us to the core
And awakens all
Of our hidden ghosts
That we dig deeper to find
Once inaccessible strength. It’s in times when division is fierce
That we must reach for each other
And hold each other much
Much tighter.Do not fall away now.
This is the time to rise.
Your light is being summoned.
Your integrity is being tested
That it may stand more tall. When everything collapses
We must find within us
That which is indomitable.Rise, and find the strength in your heart.
Rise, and find the strength in each otherBurn through your devastation,
Make it your fuel.Bring forth your light.
Now is not the time
To be afraid of the dark.—Chelan Harkin (link takes you to her website)
Note: Leslie Wagner used this poem for our reflection during A Contemplative Morning. She was inspired to share it after hearing it during Betsy Aylin’s Benedict’s Way group. One of the blessings of community is we pass on inspirational wisdom to each other just when it seems we need it most. What can you pass on this week?
