Optional overnight stay ($150 per person) for a few guests. Depart Sunday at 11am.

At the close of September, we invite you to step back and rest among the trees. Sit quietly, listen for the wisdom they have to offer, walk the labyrinth, connect with one another, and then rest some more. This is a spacious timeout just for you.

With plenty of time for solitary walks, journaling outdoors, rich conversations with like-hearted souls, or exploring the labyrinth, Gudjon and Dianna will offer reflections, poetry inspired by the wisdom of trees, especially the oaks.

Optional: Sign up for 20-minute chair massages offered by Gudjon throughout the day. Suggested donation of $10 to Gudjon (but not required).

Tentative Schedule:

  • Arrive between 9:30am and 9:45am to ensure plenty of time to get settled and ready for a restorative day.
  • Retreat officially begins promptly at 10am.
    • How can you make the most of this time today?
    • What questions might you ponder throughout the day?
    • Reflections on tree wisdom will be offered for inspiration.
  • Time to yourself to explore, journal, or walk the labyrinth from 11:00am to 12:15pm.
  • 12:15pm Brief check in and sharing about the morning. 
  • Lunch with the group at 12:30pm. Take more time to yourself or in small groups until 1:15pm.
  • The afternoon session begins at 1:15pm.
    • Time for optional sharing about what you’ve received so far today.
    • Listen with body, mind, and spirit. Gentle movements, mindful meditation, and poetic wisdom invite deeper listening. What do you need more clarity about? How might you attune to what your body, mind, and spirit need right now to refill your inner well
    • Time on your own to listen and explore.
  • Closing Session and Reflections on the day at 3:15pm. 
  • Final Blessing as we prepare to depart at 3:50pm (outside, if not too hot).
ABOUT OUR FACILITATORS

Gudjon Bergmann

Gudjon Bergmann is a licensed massage therapist (LMT) with decades-long experience in yoga, meditation and stress management. Since 1996, he has facilitated discussions in various settings, authored thirty books, coached hundreds of people, and taught yoga and stress management to thousands. Gudjon graduated from Austin Community College, serves as a regional co-coordinator with the AMTA in Austin, and owns a mobile massage business called Mindful Hands Massage. He specializes in clothed treatments, and his approach to massage is mindful, therapeutic, firm, and relaxing. Born in Iceland—that’s where the name comes from— Gudjon moved with his family to Texas in 2010 and became a U.S. Citizen in 2013. 

Dianna Amorde

With more than 20 years’ leadership experience and twelve years as Eremos’ Executive Director, Dianna brings her passion for helping people trust their inner knowing to her work at Eremos. Author of Aha! Moments: When Intellect & Intuition Collide and the weekly reflections in Eremos’ newsletters, Dianna views her service with Eremos as a natural part of her desire to inspire people to trust their inner wisdom. She has witnessed the profound life changes that taking time to go within to connect with Spirit can bring to people and their communities. She holds an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Southern California. Time among the trees and birds on early morning walks continues to renew her in these challenging times. And she always makes time to greet any four-legged friends she sees along the way.
