Welcome to our contemplative community without walls

We invite you to explore this website thoroughly to get a sense of who we are and what we have to offer.

If you feel contemplation is outside the realm of your experience, you might want to read our Frequently Asked Questions About Contemplation.

Depending upon your needs, you might desire to first experience a one-on-one spiritual direction session, a morning or afternoon mini-retreat, or a workshop.

If you’re not sure if a program is right for you, please call us at 512-276-2649 or fill out this contact form on the website and someone will get back to you promptly to help you discern the ideal entry point into Eremos.

What does it mean to be a “Contemplative Community Without Walls”?

Our physical space is small, but our community is large and extends beyond the United States thanks to Zoom and our e-newsletters. We believe we co-create the contemplative spaciousness wherever we are. There is no rule, no form that you have to follow, no obligations nor demands that will ‘wall you in’. And, community members can connect to the Eremos experience without ever setting foot in our center.

How do I become a member of the Eremos community?

The easiest way is to sign up for our newsletter (sent out twice-weekly) or participate in any program. Once you provide us with your contact information, you’re officially in! We don’t share any of your contact information with any other organizations.

Are you a nonprofit organization?

Yes, we are a 501 (c) 3 registered charitable organization which means any donations made to support the work of this organization are tax deductible. Charitable support enables us to offer programs at a reduced cost and to provide scholarships to those in need.

Where are you located?

Our center is located at 3355 Bee Cave Road Ste 101, West Lake Hills, TX 78746.

Our Executive Director works here and small groups may meet here. Most programs are offered via Zoom or at an appropriate space in the Austin area.

Support Our Vision…

Is This the Path of Love?

Last Tuesday evening, in our Poetry of the Season session, Julie Bowman introduced us to and focused on poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer. In one of the poems shared, The Question, we are invited to consider Is this the path of love?

The Heart-Skill That Opens the World…

The slower pace of summer is in the rearview mirror, the anticipation of the holiday season is on the horizon, and time seems to be speeding up.

Drinking From the Well…

Poet David Whyte began his September Zoom Series, A Deeper Form of Rest, with his famous poem The House of Belonging and then wove in wisdom and other poems to point at sources and opportunities for experiencing deep rest.
