This In Between Time…

 In Reflections

The most powerful times in our lives can be the time between times, or life’s transitions that give us the opportunity to choose.” —Bill Crawford

These days just before we cross the threshold into 2026 can be fertile times to dream into what we hope to call forth or experience in the new year.

Spending some time to open to what’s calling us forward asks us to surrender (at least for a while) our agenda or intentions and allow our soul to whisper to us where we’re called to go next.

“When we cross a threshold, we enter a liminal space, which is where the old has been released, dissolved, or sometimes ripped away and the new has not yet taken shape. We often want to grasp the shape of a known future, but this does not honor the richness of our lives and the grace that time can offer as we grow into who we are called to be.” ―Christine Valters Paintner, Give Me A Word

Where is Spirit Calling You in 2026? From walking in the woods to listening in prayer to journaling to collage, there are many ways to listen deeply for what your soul longs to experience this new year. Listen. Listen.

May you be blessed with the patience to listen in these in between days and may they yield clarity and right next steps as you cross the threshold into the new year.

Come Alive!

“It is when we are in transition that we are most completely alive.”

― William Bridges

Trust

“No threshold need be a threat, but rather an invitation and a promise. Whatever comes, the great sacrament of life will remain faithful to us, blessing us always with visible signs of invisible grace. We merely need to trust.”

—John O’Donohue

Just Beyond Yourself

Just beyond
yourself.

It’s where
you need
to be.

Half a step
into
self-forgetting
and the rest
restored
by what
you’ll meet.

There is a road
always beckoning.

When you see
the two sides
of it
closing together
at that far
horizon
and deep in
the foundations
of your own
heart
at exactly
the same
time,
that’s how
you know
it’s the road
you have
to follow.

That’s how
you know
it’s where
you
have
to go.

That’s how
you know
you have
to go.

That’s
how you know.

Just beyond
yourself,
it’s
where you
need to be.
