Through Good Friday into Holy Saturday

 In Reflections

In a poem by Hafiz we are invited and challenged to see beyond rush of these three days and nights.  We are called to deepen our openness to what it is to be human.  So many of our community are undergoing the pain of losing someone they love to death and the emptiness and loneliness of grief.  So many are questioning what is next for them, what is the meaning of what they are living.  In communion with all who struggle these days, Hafiz speaks to their hearts and ours as well.

Don’t surrender your loneliness so quickly
Let it cut more deep.
Let it ferment and season you as few human
Or even divine ingredients can.
Something missing in my heart tonight
Has made my eyes so soft.
My voice so tender.
My need of God
Absolutely clear.
